Have you ever thought about learning a new language while you have the adventure of a lifetime? With Kaplan this is entirely possible! With over 27 schools in 9 different countries, you can learn English, French, and German in multiple platforms depending on your goals. Either a year/semester long immersion or online classes, you can sign up for what is best for you, our most popular courses are General, Semi-Intensive, and Intensive. If you're older than 16, you can even sign up for the academic year intensive English course where you'll be able to live in an English-dominated environment. Our courses go from Monday to Friday, with morning and afternoon classes. Heifer International empowers families to turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity – but our approach is more than just giving them a handout. Heifer links communities and helps bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. At Heifer, we believe everyone deserves an opportunity to achieve dignity and self-reliance. We work to provide sustainable gifts of livestock, agricultural training and other resources to those in need around the world. But we can't do it alone. We work with others who share our vision of a world free of hunger and poverty. There are plenty of ways you can support Heifer's mission right where you are! Educate your community – Speak on Heifer's behalf in-person or virtually for living gift markets, state fairs, expos or other events to motivate others to make a difference. Write thank you cards or help with mailings – Express appreciation for our donors who make our projects possible. Involve your children – Children and youth are changing the lives of families all over the world using Heifer programs to inspire their peers and neighbors. We have programs for schools and faith groups. Fundraise for Heifer – Create a fundraiser for your birthday, wedding, a race or any event. Spread the word – If you're on social media, you can lend your digital voice to the cause. Share your passion and our posts with your friends and family on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. Other special projects Volunteers must be 16 and older. Volunteers under age 18 must be chaperoned by an adult at in-person events. We do not offer international volunteer opportunities. Heart in Motion (HIM) strengthens communities through volunteer action and youth leadership development. The Heart in Motion Internship Program is an opportunity given to members who are thinking of taking on a leadership role. The Internship Program seeks to help individuals gain experience and develop the skills necessary to be a leader. Open to San Francisco Bay Area students. As an intern, you'll gain valuable leadership and management skills by assisting the Events, Membership, and Outreach departments behind-the-scenes! 95% of the training will be conducted online via WorkPlace by Facebook, so it is essential that you can be online in the evenings. You will be given an overview of HIM and be prepared for training under the Internship Crew. The Internship crew will provide you with guidance and support to ensure your successful completion of the program. Afterwards, you will be able to apply for any officer position within the nonprofit organization. The Internship program will get you on the road to becoming a great leader in your community. While having fun and working alongside new friends to cultivate a positive environment in Heart in Motion, you will become part of our leadership family. So what are you waiting for?

Young people ages 15-19 and staff from more than 15 countries gather in Bedford, Virginia to form a living working model of the global community. In a traditional summer camp setting, lifelong friendships are formed based on respect as a standard of human interaction. At GYV, we see young people as integral players and we provide hands-on leadership training so they can build a future full of hope, creativity, and sustainability. Global Youth Village is a project of Legacy International and has been operating for over 38 years. We have over 4,000 alums from over 100 countries. The 15 to 21 day international youth leadership summit for ages 15-19 in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia gathers youth leaders from across the globe to create a community of hope and action. The Global Youth Village offers dynamic activities fostering cross-cultural understanding and helps young people tap into their potential as agents of change. Join friends in a beautiful rural setting to: -Tackle the world's most pressing issues. -Learn from experts and champions in peace & conflict, human rights, and climate action. -Take action and mobilize others - create working groups to develop solutions. -Become a communicator, innovator, decision maker. -Develop your own youth advocacy toolkits to precipitate local community change. Typical Day - Become a peace-builder and visionary Wellness - Explore ways to manage stress and build good mental health habits. Enjoy 45 minute activities each day such as meditation techniques, yoga, exercising, healthy eating, and journaling. Community Projects - Discover our delightful nature and work as a team to build nature trails, paint camp structures, plant organic gardens, and many more activities for 10-12 hours during your stay LivingSidebySide - 20 hours of training in our peace building and tolerance curriculum which teaches communication, cultural competency, leadership and problem solving skills. This is the backbone of the Global Youth Village experience. Vision 2030 - Addressing Environmental sustainability - Discover ways you can practice environmental sustainability. Plant and harvest organic vegetables, build nature trails and maintain forest ecosystems, learn from environmental experts and youth activists, design advocacy programs and peer education campaigns. Look at environmental issues from a variety of lenses including environmental justice, eco-art, agricultural practices, climate change impacts, and life choices. Evening Fun - down time with friends, art nights, cultural sharing events, open-mike nights and more.
