About the competition

The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) identifies and encourages high school students with a talent for chemistry. It selects the top students to represent the U.S. at the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).

Participation Information

Schools nominate students to participate in local exams. High scorers advance to regional and national rounds, and the top 20 students are invited to a study camp. The top 4 represent the U.S. at the IChO.
