An international mathematics contest for grades 3-10 organized by the RSM Foundation to develop problem-solving and critical thinking through challenging questions based on global curricula. It is free to enter and held both online and in-person each year.
The RSM Foundation International Math Contest is an annual global mathematics competition organized by the RSM Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting STEM education and a love of math in students. It challenges students in grades 3-10 with problem-solving and analytical questions based on international curricula, fostering critical thinking and benchmarking students' math skills against peers worldwide. The contest is highly regarded for stimulating mathematical excellence and rewarding achievement with certificates and medals.
Preparation varies by student; Round 1 takes 30 minutes to complete. Round 2 takes approximately 75 minutes. Overall, preparation may take several weeks leading up to the contest.
Winners are determined based on scores from two rounds. The initial round is a 30-minute online test, and top performers advance to Round 2, a more traditional, in-person or online 75-minute test with challenging math olympiad-style problems. Scores are evaluated and ranked by percentile within grades, awarding Gold, Silver, Bronze medals, and Honorable Mentions.
