This contest is designed for high school age students who want to apply the principles of solar energy in new ways. Students can improve on an existing solar device or design an entirely new one. Participants can enter as individuals or as teams of up to four.

Participation Information
Participants must submit an entry form that includes a title page listing the project title, an abstract, the sponsoring teacher, high school name, student’s name, student’s Social Security Number, and student’s home address. Participants must also submit a description of the project that does not exceed two pages. Submission of a design plan is also required. The descriptions should include the design’s function and purpose and the need the design meets.
