Competition Details

Judging Criteria

Teams compete in a series of rounds featuring oral tossup and bonus questions covering various academic subjects. Scoring is based on the number of correct answers in buzzer-based oral rounds and written rounds, with points added for bonuses. The format alternates between tossup-only rounds and tossup/bonus rounds. Teams accumulate points throughout the contest, and rankings are determined by total points scored. Advancement to the state tournament requires placing among the top three teams (two large school spots and one small school spot) at each regional meet. Awards are presented to top teams and individual high scorers.
