About the competition

The Coastal Art & Poetry Contest invites California students to submit original artwork or poetry inspired by the California coast and ocean. The contest aims to increase awareness and appreciation of California’s coastal and marine environments.

Participation Information

Students create and submit their original art or poetry by January 31, 2025. Entries must have a California coastal or ocean theme. Submissions can be made online or by mail.
Open to students in grades K-12 residing in California.
$100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and publication opportunities
