About the competition

The AIME is an intermediate mathematics competition that follows the AMC 10/12. It consists of challenging problems designed to test mathematical creativity and problem-solving skills.

Participation Information

To qualify for the AIME, students must score highly on the AMC 10 or AMC 12 exams. The AIME is administered to qualifying students at their schools or testing centers.
Open to students who have achieved the qualifying score on the AMC 10 or AMC 12 exams.
Certificates, medals, and progression to the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO)
To qualify for the AIME, students must score highly on the AMC 10 or AMC 12 exams. The AIME is administered to qualifying students at their schools or testing centers.
1. Qualify through AMC 10 or AMC 12. 2. Register for AIME. 3. Take the exam on the designated date.
Access to mathematics study materials, previous AIME problems, and a calculator (if allowed).
Judging is based on the number of correct answers. Each correct answer awards one point, with a maximum score of 15. There is no penalty for incorrect answers.
