About the competition

A STEM-focused competition where students learn drone piloting, programming, and teamwork through hands-on missions including piloting, autonomous flight, and communication.

Participation Information

Form a team, register on the REC Foundation website, prepare for the competition using provided resources, and participate in local and regional events.
Open to US middle and high school students. We recommend 3-5 students per team. Each team has one drone. A school or organization can register multiple teams to accommodate student interest.
Trophies, plaques, recognition, and networking opportunities in drone technology

Register a team, access resources and training, prepare for competitions, participate in local qualifiers, and advance to regional championships if eligible.
A drone kit compatible with competition guidelines, programming tools (e.g., coding software), competition field equipment, and a logbook for documentation.
Based on performance in the missions, the quality of programming, piloting skills, teamwork, effective use of autonomous controls, and thoroughness of documentation/logbook.
