The Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest is an annual creative arts competition that encourages students to explore the climate crisis and its impact on oceans through visual art, writing, music, dance, film, and multimedia. The 2024 theme, “Tell Your Climate Story,” invites students to become climate witnesses and share their personal experiences, insights, or perceptions about our changing climate reality.

Participation Information
Students submit their work online. Submissions are accepted in various categories, including visual art (handcrafted and digital), poetry & spoken word, creative writing, film, performing arts (music & dance), and interactive & multimedia.
Open to students aged 11-18 worldwide. Students who have started college or university are not eligible.
Scholarships up to $1,500, publication opportunities, and recognition for creative ocean advocacy
Students submit their work online. Submissions are accepted in various categories, including visual art (handcrafted and digital), poetry & spoken word, creative writing, film, performing arts (music & dance), and interactive & multimedia.
1. Review the contest theme and submission categories. 2. Create a piece based on the theme "Tell Your Climate Story." 3. Submit the entry online by June 10, 2024.
Access to research materials, creative tools, and the Bow Seat Resource Studio to learn more about climate change.
Judging is based on creativity, originality, and how effectively the submission communicates a climate story related to ocean awareness.
