About the competition

National Economics Challenge tests high school students on key micro and macroeconomic principles, as well as global economics. Students compete in two divisions: Adam Smith (advanced) and David Ricardo (beginners).

Participation Information

Students form teams and compete in state-level competitions. Winners move to the semi-finals, and the top four teams receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City for the national finals.
Open to high school students in the U.S.
$1,000 for 1st place, $500 for 2nd place; trophies and national recognition
