National Current Events League (NCEL) is a contest where students answer multiple-choice questions on current events across four meets throughout the school year. Topics include general news, science, arts, business, and sports.

Participation Information

Teams of students compete in four meets during the school year, answering 30 multiple-choice questions in 25 minutes. Schools submit their top 10 scores for team ranking, and individual and team awards are given.
