About the competition

The KEC is a statewide competition for student-created, managed, and owned ventures, promoting entrepreneurship and small business development. Finalists present their business ideas for cash prizes.

Participation Information

Students must submit a business plan for their venture. Finalists are selected to present at the competition, and additional resources such as the KEC Prep Course are available for preparation.
Open to high school and college students in Kansas
$5,000 for 1st place, $3,000 for 2nd, $2,000 for 3rd; certificates and mentorship
