About the competition

The IGVC challenges university students to design and build autonomous ground vehicles capable of navigating an outdoor obstacle course. The competition focuses on technology for intelligent transportation and autonomous vehicles.

Participation Information

Teams must design, build, and program autonomous ground vehicles. They compete in three challenges: Auto-Nav, Interoperability Profiles, and Design Challenge. Starting in 2017, the Self-Drive Challenge was added.
Open to college and university students worldwide
$3,000 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd, $1,000 for 3rd; trophies and recognition for robotics innovation
