About the competition

The AES Student Recording Competition allows students to showcase their recording and mixing skills. Participants submit their work in various categories, including Traditional Acoustic Recording, Traditional Studio Recording, Modern Studio Recording & Electronic Music, and Sound for Visual Media. Submissions are evaluated by a panel of industry experts.

Participation Information

Students must register for the AES convention with Student All Access. After registering, they receive the submission link via email. Participants attend the convention in person and present their work.
Open to AES Student Members enrolled in college or university programs related to audio engineering.
Trophies, certificates, networking opportunities, and recognition for outstanding audio projects

1. Register for the AES convention. 2. Submit recordings in one of the competition categories. 3. Present the recordings at the convention for feedback and judging.
Access to recording equipment, software, and audio workstations. A faculty advisor's endorsement is required for participation.
Judging is based on audio quality, creativity, technical proficiency, and adherence to the category guidelines. Industry experts provide feedback and select winners.
