The American Legion Oratorical Contest is an annual public speaking competition that encourages high school students to explore the U.S. Constitution. Participants prepare and present speeches on topics related to constitutional principles and the duties of American citizenship.

Interested students can contact their local American Legion post to learn about participating in the contest. Competitions start at the local level and advance through district, state, and national levels.
Open to high school students in grades 9-12 who are citizens or lawful permanent residents of the United States.
$25,000 scholarship for the national winner, smaller scholarships for state and regional winners
