About the competition

This is a speech contest designed for high school seniors. The speeches must adhere to the general topic American Competitive Enterprise. The contest aims to promote a greater understanding of the role of economics in free society and to develop students’ communication skills.

Participants must first compete in area- and council-level contests before being selected to participate in the finals at the national conference. Chapters wishing to participate must submit a Chapter Confirmation Form. Students’ speeches are judged on content, delivery, and language.
