About the competition

National Achievement Scholarship Program was established to recognize academically talented African-American students. It operated similarly to the National Merit Scholarship, awarding scholarships based on academic achievement.

Participation Information

Students qualify based on their PSAT/NMSQT scores and are selected for recognition. High scorers advance in the competition to become finalists and scholarship winners.
Open to African-American high school students in the U.S.
$2,500 scholarships for winners; certificates and national recognition
